Made it to Lancaster, Pennsylvania Friday, the 8th. It is so beautiful there. And to see horse drawn buggies going down the road is so neat. It was interesting getting to know the Amish and learning about how they do things.
On Saturday, we went to a Farmer's Market. Amish people were selling their things there. We got some fruits and vegetables. Also, some homemade donuts and shoo-fly pie :) And a hand made, one of a kind skirt for myself. It is soft and comfy. I am wearing it in the pictures of us on the playground in pictures below :)
We went to help at a food bank on Monday. That was fun. We mostly restocked the shelves. It was a great experience. We met some pretty awesome people as well. It was great talking with them.
Wednesday, there was a free Amish tour. We went, of course. It was so neat. The tour stopped at an Amish quilt store. We got to see all the quilts they made. Mostly all hand stitched. The tour also stopped at a little country store where we got soft pretzels and homemade root beer. I don't even like root beer, but this stuff was delicious!
After our tour, we headed over to a cutie little town to have lunch with some new friends. They know the Evan's and so we met up with them Friday night and went to their church's annual campout Bible study Saturday night. Anyway, we met them for lunch at the Chocolate Cafe. It is a cool place to eat. Mostly all vegetarian and vegan choices. After lunch, we walked around the town and shopped a little bit. I bought a vintage dress. There are some things I need to fix on it. So, you will be able to see pictures of it later on when I have "before and after" pictures of it :)
I loved being in Pennsylvania. It is ridiculously gorgeous. I love the fields and barns and horses and buggies. It is sweet.
Rainbow ;)
Amish made soft pretzel. That's all I'm gonna say :P
From now on, I shall call them Pin Keeps :)
Strawberry Chocolate Lush. Tastes exactly like a chocolate dipped strawberry. Totally vegan :) delicious.
I was so glad to see that all of you are posting again. Seemed like a dry spell while you were having fun adventures. Cute skirt...love the hemline! Of course, the pin cushions were favorites!
