Southern California

Southern California was full of excitement. We left San Francisco and headed to our friend Kimberlee Lucas' house near LA. We met them when they moved to Covington in 2009. I mentioned Bob Lucas in my Michigan post. I had such an enjoyable time being there with her, and two of her daughter's, Emma and Jo. Here are some pictures:

and Bitsy ;)
Such sweet animals; I wish I could have taken them with me.

Bible Studies
Precious times.

After we left Kimberlee's, we drove one whole hour to San Dimas. Which is where Mimi and Pop live! Yay!

Can you see the cactus smiling?

This is the view from our campsite. It was the best spot in the whole park ;D

There they are!! It was so great to be able to see them!!

The second day we were there, we went and helped out at this garden.

I think there was a bug in my face....

Tomatoes! I helped pick these ;)

There was a fire on the other side of that mountain. It smoked for days! Apparently a car caught on fire, or something. I don't know many details. It was interesting to watch, though.

The Reagan Library! Here I am with Ronald and Nancy ;)

a fake Oval Office... haha this was fun!

On Tuesday, Mimi took us to a craft store called Peacemakers. Okay, so this is the coolest store! They have all sorts of different things. Mainly, I bought some vintage lace and table cloths that are just waiting to be made into dresses, skirts, and shirts! I'm so excited! These presents we're holding are "mystery gifts". You can pay $3 dollars, and get one. I got some blue fabrics :) Perfect!

They had things to make lip balm at that store. So, of course, we made lip balm when we got home!

Wednesday, Kimberlee, Emma, and Jo came out to visit us. It was a good time. We ate raw food, made lipbalm, played card games, watched Amish Grace (which is a totally great movie, and if you've never seen it, I suggest you do so ;))!

Thursday, we joined Pop's boss, Steve and his family for dinner at the Japanese restaurant. I had rice, soup (with seaweed in it), and vegetables. My stomach didn't agree with it.

also, thank you for visiting my blog, i replied in the comments, but i will tell you here too that i used vanna's yarn for the chunkier collar, and a lighter weight organic cotton for the grey collar. the brand for that one is rowan, it's really beautiful but it's discontinued i think:(
