These past few weeks have been so crazy. I haven’t had time
to sit down and blog. Plus, the no Internet thing and such. We have finally
gotten to a place where we can relax, and where I can actually sit down and
write about what we did in September. Though I won’t be blogging all of
September in this post, I will be blogging the first three weeks of the month!
Since we left California about a month ago, we have been to
Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma.
1. Nevada. We connected with a church in Las Vegas called
Hope Church of Las Vegas. Cool, huh? Anyway, their church got hit pretty hard by a flood a couple weeks before we got there. It was neat hearing their story. We met such sweet people. One couple in
particular… Their names are Dana and Shagufta Brown. I enjoyed getting to know
them while we were there. We went to see a bluegrass band perform at a park,
which was fun. We also drove down The Strip in Las Vegas. Though, we didn’t
take any pictures. On the Monday we were there, the church needed some people
to refill the chairs in the worship center with connect cards, tithe envelopes,
and pens. So, we volunteered for that job. Here are some pictures of that week:
we had dinner Sunday night with our new friends Dana and Shagufta ;)
2. Arizona. We only stayed one night because we needed to
hurry to Colorado so we could see Bama and Papa before they left to go back to
GA. While there, we saw the Grand Canyon, of course! It was so beautiful! And
the pictures do not even show it’s bigness and prettiness:
there were two of these longhorns in a little fence in the middle of a steakhouse parking lot! :(
3. Colorado was a great time! We made it there from Arizona in
10 hours, which is not normal for us. A normal day of driving for us is, like,
3 or 4 hours. Anyway, I enjoyed spending time with Bama and Papa! It was so
great to see them! They took us kids up into the mountains to see all the
animals (even dead ones) and things, and to eat Pistachio ice cream. We also got to stay in
their condo with them, so the camper just hung out at the campground by itself
the whole weekend. Poor thing. Also, we tried to go to Four Corners, which is where Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico meet. The park closes at 7pm. We got there at 6:58pm. They wouldn't let us in :( Here are pictures:
mom was excited to show Bama and Papa pictures from the trip since they don't use the computer to be able to look at the blog.
we loved watching movies that weekend.
this is a dead cow.......... see him turned over with his legs up in the air?
i loved this guy. he looks so fuzzy and soft!
we saw a lot of hot air balloons. they set them off right next door from the condo.
4., 5., and 6. We stayed in New Mexico for two nights. And I went to
Joann’s. I got lots of pretty yarn for the crocheted things I’m going to be
adding to my shop for the fall/winter! After we left New Mexico, we cut through
Texas, stayed for one night, and then headed to Oklahoma. There, we didn’t do
much. As you can see:
i made it back to my favorite state!
yes, this is the sign for the campground we stayed at in Amarillo. pretty rough looking.
this was interesting to see. i'm not sure what the purpose of this is.
talking to my lovely friend Grayson!
oh! i made this mug cozy. i will probably end up putting some in my shop!
I love how in the pic of the dead cow...the other ones are just standing away from it like, "No big deal." :P
