Our Wedding

January 17, 2017 at a waterfall in the woods in the northern mountains of Georgia. It was a perfect day. Perfect weather. Not too cold, not too warm. It drizzled on the way up the the wedding site, but stopped just in time. We only had our parents there with us, and it was just magical.

The night before, we stayed at a lovely hotel in downtown Dahlonega, Georgia. It was such a sweet place. The morning of, was quite chill. I didn't want to feel rushed. Of course, coffee was a must, so my dad walked down to the coffee house a few blocks from our hotel and got us coffee. Thomas went to breakfast while I started to get ready. My sweet friend, Jessica, did my hair.

I didn't even put my dress on until about 5 minutes before we left. I was loving how calm I felt. I hardly felt nervous at all!

The waterfall was off the road just a little. Which meant we had to track it through the woods to get down there; and since it had been raining, it was a little muddy. So, that was fun.

Family :)

The weather was absolutely marvelous. Because of the rain, the lighting was perfect for pictures. And it was only about 65 degrees out. Planning an outdoor wedding in the middle of January is pretty risky, but I think it worked out just fine!

Our day was beautiful. I loved it so. And I am looking forward to many many years with this handsome man of mine <3

Confessions of a Quitter

Hello, my name is Lydia, and I'm a big ol' blog quitter.

Life has been rather crazy the past year and a half or so. I met a man. I got married. And I moved half way across the country. Don't get me wrong; it has been amazing. But definitely, crazy.

Y'all, isn't he cute? I sure think so.

I know I have said this same thing in the past 3 blog posts - I promise, I'm being for reals this time: Now that things have started to settle down a bit, I am going to start posting more. I am excited to be getting back into some sewing and crocheting. Thank you for your patience as I've been gone, and I hope that you'll stick around for what's next!

lately

I haven't blogged in a while.  I thought I would write a little on what I've been up to lately.  since clogging and BSF stopped for the summer, I haven't been doing much of anything.  our family decided to stay home for the summer and not take any vacations.  so I have mostly been hanging around at home or visiting with friends or making good salads:)
I did a little bit of paper embroidery.  I really like it and I'm planning to do more and more.

I tried a caramel macchiato from Starbucks and it is now my new favorite.

also, making iced coffee at home in mason jars is becoming a cool thing.

and lemonade with mint leaves!

I have been having lots of lovely dates out with friends these days.  I am really enjoying that!
I love me some Dee and Connie time:)

I have gotten to see this sweet girl, Caitlin, a lot lately!  we were apart for over a year but we have reunited.  yay!

caprese has become my newest favorite meal.  I think I had it three times this past week.  it's SO delicious!
I have also gotten to have some really great studying time at a little coffee shop!
there has been a bunch of coffee drinking in my life these days.  and I didn't notice it until I started writing this and looking through all my latest pictures.  hehe, oops;)

Seattle Trip 2013

Hey! So it's been a really long time since I blogged last. Well, I'm back and I'm bringing you Seattle! Me, my dad, two of my sisters, and 10 others from our church went on a mission trip to Seattle to help out with a church plant, Essential Church. We had connected with them when my family was in Seattle last August. It was great getting to know the people there and it was even more great to see them again this past March!

Here we go! At the Atlanta airport, early Tuesday morning, and ready!

View from the plane. It was so pretty!

When we got to our hotel in Seattle, we looked out our window and could literally see the campground we stayed at back in August. That was neat!

Here is our group minus Pastor Matt... he took the picture! Tuesday night we ate dinner at Ivar's. It was... interesting.
After we ate, we headed over to the community center for volunteer training.

On Wednesday, it rained and rained and rained, and part of our group went to a neighborhood and put out door hangers and prayer walked. It was a great experience.
After that and lunch, we met up with the rest of our group and went to a middle school flag football game where we served hot chocolate, granola bars, and Chuckie Cheese coupons (more on that later).

They even played in the rain.

It was cold. As you can see...

Thursday we toured the city of Seattle. It was a little rainy and cold that morning, but it cleared up by noon. It was a lovely day to walk around the city. We visited Pikes Place Market where they have a bunch of neat things and fruits and vegetables. Of course we had to visit the Original Starbucks, and the Space Needle.

One drop = 20 minute burn. Nice.

My beautiful little friends, Erin and Lydia!

This guy looked just like a statue! He was cool.

The kids of the group...

We also served at Chuckie Cheese this day, but I didn't get any pictures. Lots of children showed up and it was great!

Friday we did more prayer walking and door hanger hanging.
And we did a lot of sitting in the hallway of the hotel. (we did this at least once everyday during our free time) It was sweet fellowship. I loved this part of the trip!

Saturday, the entire group went to Odle Middle School. We all split up and did different things. Us girls punched out letters for bulletin boards. There was a lot to do, but we had fun helping out! The others painted benches and bleachers, and such things as those. It was a day of service and it was lovely!

Sunday, we had church service. It was their first service, and it went really well. A bunch of the kids that were at Chuckie Cheese Thursday night came, so that was extra awesome!!!

kinda blurryyyyy...

For dinner, before heading to the airport that evening, we met the entire group out at this crazy restaurant. Can you see all the stuff all over the place!? It was crazy. That is all I'm saying. ;)

Here is the groupy group! :D

I had such a great time on this trip! I'm so looking forward to the next one!!!
